Last week, Wednesday, we were suppose to continue Naxx at 7pm. I logged on at 6:30PM, to get flask,etc Half of our raid was missing, we end up doing OS at 9pm. Another new dungeon, but it’s a fast one. You need to kill a big drake and 3 smaller one plus trash. So it take only like 45 minutes. If you want to make it harder for better loot, you don’t kill the 3 smaller one, it give extra buffs to the boss. We had fun time, clearing it but not before we aggro trash mobs during boss fight, or that I get all the eggs hatching with baby dragons so the fight get 2 times harder, but we didn’t die. After we did the vault and continue Naxx but at midnight I had to leave, so I didn’t progress far in this one.
Hinote has a presentation with her lab partner the Thursday morning, so he was at the apartment around 9pm and they worked on it. So you had intense physic discussion, ventrilo for raiding going on at the same time. Her presentation went well tho. I pick her up at school, reading Evolution, starting a new Baxter book, this one going through all the ages of Earth. Right now he put you in a dinosaur mind, so it’s a strange read.
Friday after work we met and eat at a new asian noodle restaurant. You choose the type of noodle (rice, soba, plain rice) etc what you want to put in it (I got cashew, pineapple) and what kind of sauce you want. It was spicy but surprisingly good.
We spend a calm weekend. Hinote needed a hw break, and we just chilled out together. She made me a lasagna *_*..We watched W also. Good movie, tho it’s strange to watch a movie where you dont feel any form of sympathy for the main character. Drefuss was quite looking like Cheney. Tho my main question is why they made the actor playing Karl Rove looking like he had a head malformation.
They are suppose to do some removing of old pipes on our street next week. Possible that they will have to put dry wall down in our room. I’m really not thrill about it. Not sure of the impact it will have in the apartment and if we will need to move for some days. I will work at home this day, in case I need to move more stuff out of the way.
Saw my cousin and her bf last night. It was strange to do the old bus ride, seeing the town where I live for 4 years, waiting for her them at that mall. It feel so ..familiar.Same feeling happen when I go back in my hometown. Things changed, but still. But I’m happy in T. My cousin brought me a crate of my mom pasta sauce. We will try it tonight. Nothing like the taste of the food you grew up with.
Possible we go in my hometown for easter. Leaving like the thursday night and getting back sunday. Quick trip with long road. Tho with 4 people (adults) it will be quite something. My cousin also have 2 dvd screens at the back for the kid, so I’m sure we can use that if not sleeping. Still not confirmed tho, lots of details to figure out.
The last 2 weeks, Naxx raid

The last 2 weeks have been calm. Hinote was studying a lot, we got worry a little, her vision didn’t seem ok, but she spent so much time in book. She got an eye appointment and turn out she needed to change the prescription, so she got new glasses. She looks very cute with it. It took her 3 days to get use to them. After some shopping Saturday we decide to make a veggie pizz. We put so much stuff on it, the crust had difficulties to hold everything without breaking. She called her aunt sunday to see how she was and get her chili recipe. Her aunt told her it would be enough for 2 people with maybe some left over. Turn out we needed a second pot while cooking it, and I had to run to the store to get plastic containers to put all the left over. It was quite good (we ate a lot of it on during the week) We got huge bread at the bakery to make bowl and put the chili in it.
We are really starting to eat very well, Hinote cooks a lot ^_^!
Monday we shopped together for my mom birthday gift. I ordered a book already for her, we look at digital frame (I pick one the day after) and Hinote made a trip to find the hand creams she really likes.
Tuesday we went out with my cousin for a drink, meeting her new boyfriend. She was leaving for my hometown the friday, so I could give her my mom gifts.I loaded the digital frame with pics and put it back in the box. We got a bottle of wine there, there was no pricing, so we found out later that the wine was 65$ but it was fun. her new bf is funny and they seem happy, it’s all matters to me. We also got creme brûlée *_*..
The rest of the week was routine, working on urgent last minutes reports. The weather was so nice on weekend, it felt like spring, warm and sunny. We stopped at the use/discount bookstores, and find 2 Baxter book for 4.99$ instead of 40$. So we have more Hard scifi to read. By hard, it mean pages of sciences explanations about galaxies, photons,etc
The guild is trying to Naxx the tuesday and OS the wednesday. They only do 10 man normal for now, so places are limited. They cleared it once before last week. I choose a guild that need to do and learn the contents, instead of one that just in farming mode, its better to learn. Naxx has 4 wings, plus another one that open when all are clear.
We did the The Arachnid Quarter last night, it was a breeze, we killed Anub’Rekhan and Grand Widow Faerlina without dying, and we died one one Maexxna, but more with bad luck that anything. I got her leg has weapon now, my dps is better this week 1800 vs 1300.
We started the plague quarter, was nervous, never did it so I don’t know the encouter, we killed Noth the Plaguebringer but died twice on Heigan the Unclean and call it a night, we will continue tonight. Heigan is rough, always dancing, you are always moving, trying to go in safe zone to avoid the green lava coming from the floor, I died so fast there. Funny tho, the tank and one priest continue alone for 15 min before dying when his timer was over.

The weekend have been calm. Hinote has to study, she has 2 midterms this week and she was not feeling well (nothing serious) I tried to relax also, friday being the first day I felt better from the cold. Played some FFIII on the ds friday night and watched Habs vs Flyers game. Hinote was sleeping when I got home. When she waked up she made some chicken and veggies, it was good.
Woke up around 11am saturday, WoW a little, tried the Killzone 2 demo on the ps3, shower and walked to do grocery, while she was doing reading for the exams. We ate pasta together, watch the last 2 episodes of Terminator, some of the Sharks vs Habs games and web surfing together. It’s fun we talk at the same time, the 2 desks are next to each other.
Sunday we wake up, watch an episode of Mei-chan no Shitsuji, walk for a coffee like we do normally on sunday afternoon. We brought snack for lunch, I got the biggest cinnabon ever, i love their cheescake frosting, but it was so much, I had to remove some:

After we ate the pizza we watched some nature show, and Hinote started working on problem sets for the exam. I WoW a little, joined a random casual guild, we will see how it goes. I ran into that problem:

I feel like the mammoth mount is the first big enough to support a tauren, but it’s so big, that it doesnt fit in most of the doors in the game.
I changed the memory of Aki, 4GB ddr2-1066. Sadly it seem with that bios, I have to run memory at 800 mhz. But at least no crash it the last 2 weeks, it was time she’s stable.
Finally march start today *_*. It’s always a relieve knowing that winter is almost over. With all the walk, not sliding on sidewalk or not freezing when walking is always a plus.

I updated the picture of our WoW characters to reflect how they look now. New haircut for Hinote’s mage and my shammy is now in level 80 gear (mostly, with 2 level 213 items (highest of the game, tier 7.5) and one tier 7. Gearing is really the game. Maybe I will join a guild to run 5 men heroics.
Long time I didn’t write in the blog. I guess I would call it winter lazyness. Wanted to write often, tho not much happened and i’m sure what I ate for dinner is not that very interresting.
The last 2 months at work were frustrating, not able to progress much with all the server problems for BO. We restored it, the problem got back. We think its an exclusion missing for the antivirus that corrupted the hot files, loosing the db links to the reports. Thing seem stable now, but we still need to rebuild the production server. I have the temporary server under my desk for the last month. It produce more eat that a heater.
Sanrio and Mac cosmetic launched an Hello Kitty make up collection. Hinote waited for month for them, and while searching on the web, I found out that there was a launch party for them downtown. We were able to get invited. She was so happy. Not much guys there, cocktails, cookies, and a lots of women trying the product. Also some guys models, naked chest with giant black Hello Kitty head o_O. So warm it was there. I got her some product as an advanced valentine gift. I aslo got her a Tiny black leather Hello Kitty Plushie, so now the murloc have competition around the computers. After we cold down at starbucks and got home.
For Valentine (our first together), Friday the 13th, we ate in a fancy thai restaurant. The pineapple rice was quite good, they cut a pineapple in half, empty it but use it as a bowl for the rice. After we walked to a bakery and got cake that we brought home to eat them there. We watch some dramas, and at midnight we exchange gift. Got her a new wallet to match the purse I got her for christmas, and Kirby Superstars Ultra on the DS, wich is a childhood game for her. The 14 we travelled downtown to get valentine cup cakes (picture this weekend) and we made a chinese fondue, which is Hinote favorite.
The monday (an holiday here) we visited my cousin with the kids during the day, played with them, and at evening, we got out in a pub with her homework group. It was reading week for them. It was quite relax and fun.
Hinote spent the week studying and hw burt keeping the evening free so we could spend time together, so it was great. Woke up last saturday with a cold, and until yesterday I needed kleenex every 5 minutes, so I felt weak all weekend. Hope a lots of sleep this weekend. She got to pacific malls last saturday and brought me a cool item for my DS, so i played it a lot now, after 2 years of taking dust in a desk.

The last day in my hometown was calm. We had a dinner at 5pm. It was a wine and cheese, so I didn’t eat much there. Made toasts when I got home. My mom family is big, so a lot of people there. It’s always emotive when my grandfather give the new year wishes to the family. So it seem that this year I was able to see everyone. When I got home, I finished packing, and slept from 2AM to 4AM. I got 3 licenses of Nod32, one for dad and the rest for me and Hinote. I always have to remove virus on Misono (dad computer), so I was hoping that it would protect it better. It seem it failed.
I got at the airport around 5AM. It was around -30C outside, but the weather was good to fly. I had 2 hours wait in Montréal, so I watched part of the new Mummy movie and some Koda Kumi concert. Met Hinote at Pearson, I love her new haircut. She had more luggages that when she left, which make me smile, but part of them were my gifts. We took a taxi home, happy to be together after 3 weeks apart.
We got home and exchanged gifts. I got her a evil Hello Kitty black and gold purse and also a Hurley jacket. I also found a luggage scale at the airport, so I gave her to Hinote also. We so needed one.
She got me a talking Murloc (http://www.jinx.com/world_of_warcraft/other/talking_murloc_plush_toy.html?catid=49) and a Blizzard authentificator.
The murloc is on top of my screen and I make it talk randomly. The authentificator is very usefull, it had a random key you need to type to loggon in your account. So if someone steal your wow password, they wont be able to log in. I also got 3 perfumes from her parents, Neo, Hanae Mori, and l’eau Dissey Intense plus some l’Occitane product. Also got 2 geek shirt, one with all the computers plugs saying in case of doubts try another hole, and one saying there 10 people in the world, the one that understand binary and the one that doesn’t.
After exchanging gift we did some grocery, got some thai to eat. We were tired so we took a nap around 6pm and waked up in the morning o_O. Hinote didnt sleep before taking the plane, so we needed sleep. Saturday was just a day to rest home, had to clean a virus on dad computer using a remote desktop and malwarebyte, and sunday we got to Sephora so she can used mom gift card, stopped at l’occitanne to exchange something and made pasta later that night.
I have a lot of problems with Aki. Most of the time I have to unplug her to get her start, sometime it said cpu unsupported you need to upgrade your bios. Also no keyboard and mouse found, but my wireless terminal was broke no power. So i got a new mouse. Sometime it boot, stay up for 2 days, and random blue screen, some Nvidia or other generic. Hinote thinks its the PSU, its possible cause its quite random each time.
BO got corrupted during the vacation also. We will get it back, we have a lot of backup, but its more complicated that expected. So last night felt a little down, no Aki and work was not as planned.
I will maybe get a new PSU soon. Aki better behave. New board, cpu, soundcard already. So i hope she will get stable for a while.
The Holidays

Happy new year everyone! Like I said to Hinote on the phone last night, we started the year at Cachet and finished it living together, so it been quite a good year for us. And 2009 will be even better *_*…We have been appart for almost 3 weeks now, so it will be great to have a chance to see each other. Someone ask me how it was to be away again. I said its a good sign, we are missing each other already.
The week she left to see her family I still had work, so I used the evenings to shop for gifts, and also doing last minutes preparations for the trip. When I was home, I tried to eat well, mostly salad, like spinach, nuts and strawberry salad. while playing music. Of course I had so much free time alone, and wanted to be on the computer to chat, so I Wow a lot. Raced to 77 to 80 (the max) and made 6000 gold in a week to get my epic flying mount.
We got a crazy storm the friday, I got to work anyway, because the snow had just started, but most people were not there. Even the subway was slow. The travel day was easy, woke around 8am, finished packing and a taxi to the airport. We had to wait 30 minutes in the plane leaving Montreal because no one was there to put the luggages in the plane. I just relaxed home, mom made cheese crepe and maple syrup, and she also made like 12 tiny Christmas desserts.
For Christmas eve, my uncle and aunt came visit and we ate a chinese fondue. I was glad I could see my uncle, was worried about him, with the cancer since this summer. It was a calm everning, mostly catching up with what was going on in that small kingdom. Got a fondue pot, plates, and also Thierry Mugler Angel for Men kit. I didnt ask for tech gifts because I had everything I could think of. I c waalled Hinote for saying Joyeux Noel. It’s was good to hear her voice and things seem to go well for her there with her siblings
The 25th my grandfather visited for dinner, 79 and still in good shape for that age.
The 26 I felt lazy, so I rented Hancock, Wanted, and Getr Smart and watched them with my parents. Average movies, but good to relax. The 27 I shopped for another gift for Hinote (sorry cannot tell because she I will give it to her tomorrow), got an Hab’s shirt for me, Fallout 3 on pc for Math, and MGS4 for Francois. Math visited later that night. We watched the game, and decide to play Super Mario World on the SNES. I sucked so much at it now its not even funny. Im old!
We were having crazy wind and freezing rain and at one point its started leaking in the house from my room upstair to the living room. At one point there was 6 bowls in the living room. I felt bad for my parents, for that last 3 years they have contractor coming to fix the problems of the room, taking wall appart,etc and it seem it’s still not fixed. We stayed up until 7am to clear the mess. Weather got cold again, so it frozen again and it stopped.
During the day during the holidays, I was broswing the web on my laptop, chatting a little with Hinote and friends, and Wowing a little. Nothing big, mostly doing some dailies, getting leather and making armors etc.
I ate a pepperoni bacon pizza with Math that evening. The place around her put like half a inch of cheese all over and it make like a crust over it. We watched the game, more mario and left for pool after. We played for maybe 1.5 hour there, it was full. We felt old there, it was full of 18 years old that were calling mister when we had to move them to play, and asked us questions to how to play. We tried after to find something to eat, but everything was close early.
The 30th, my cousin visited with the 2 kids. We ate noodle and rice my mom made, and she talked to her, while I played with the kids. She left with a small cooler of my mom food she will bring back in T for me. So Hinote will be able to eat a fondue, that she likes so much ^_^. Francois called later that night, so we stopped at a restaurant to eat dessert together, and after that we got to his appart, to play 30 games of Soul Calibur 4, on his 42 inches TV. Even if i dont have the space now, I want i bigger Aquos *_*..
Yesterday was the family party on my dad side. 5 years I didn’t seem them because I normaly leave before new year eve, to see Hinote and also because we started around the 3rd at the board. A lot of my younger cousins are teens now. and some in their 25-30 have kids now. It was nice to have a chance to see everyone, and meet the youngest babies. I mostly ate dinner and talked to the older cousins and aunts, uncles. I dont know well the younger generation, its the case with big family. We got home around midnight, say happy new year and I called my baby again. After that I read a little.During the trip I read one WoW book about Thrall and I just finished another Bourne one.
Today is the family dinner on my mom side, big family, 11 brothers and sisters. So this year I will be able to see everyone. After the dinner I will pack, and my fly is so early in the morning, I will probably need to leave around 4am. Will meet Hinote in Toronto so we can take a taxi together . We will go home, give gifts,catching up. We will also need food, cause there’s maybe only pasta left in the appart. Im sad to leave family and friends, but happy to hug her again.

Holiday’s plan, the road to 80…

One day before Hinote leaving for the US for the Holidays. She has one exam left today, and after that we will eat a good dinner and she will start packing. We tried to figure out for the last month how what we will do for the break, but it was around 3000$ plus expenses for going in the US and my hometown, so we will be apart. But on the good side, its only 10 days, not 4 months like normaly ^_^!
I will leave next week for Québec, and come back after new year. First time I will be there for new year since I move out. But no Cachet dinner for new year eve…Tho I have to eat less this week to be ready, it seem my mom is cooking a lot for the Holidays, 200 donuts, 8 different kind of desserts, etc
Tuesday we did some Holiday’s shopping, a lot of people downtown. Met my cousin after for a coffee and a crème brûlée. Hinote has to study a lot for her physic exams this week and also all weekend, being her most important test. Which gave me a lot of time to WoW….
I got to 76 Thursday and explored Sholazar Basin which is an hommage to Un’goro crater. A lot of leather to get there, I made myself the 8 items pvp set that you can wear at level 78. Got to 77 saturday night, so I got my flying mount back, cost a 1000g. I need to get the epic one tho, I need 3000g more for that.
I moved to Storm Peaks, and did a lot of quests there. I will do 2 dailies that give you a chance to get a white polar bear mount. The zone is huge and the mountain so high, you need to fly everywhere and it’s kind of slow. I got the 78 Sunday, equiped the PVP set, and tried Wintergasp, the PVP zone.The faction that win it have it for 2 hours, with special quests and dungeon available.We took it, did some dailies there (very slow) you need to be 80 to access the dungeon there so I will have to wait for that. Good place to farm elementals tho.
While waiting for Wintergasp to start I did one Arathi. We were 14 vs 6, so we win easily. 2000 to 0. Got an achievement for that, never thought I would see that. I aslo got a world epic drop. It put you in a bubble and transform you ..a monkey. So it’s Monkey ball. But I need to be 80 to try it ;_;.
With Hinote in the US and one week before the Holiday, I should be able to be level 79 this week and maybe level 80 this weekend or while in Québec. It’s fun to level again your main, I will miss it. But there so much to do…

Winter has arrived this week on the GTA. We had some snow (maybe 3cm) and with the windchill this morning, around -18C. Hinote described it well : Il fait fucking froid. It’s the season of cold, everyone coughing in the subway, so it’s kind of tough to not be sick. We will rest this weekend again.
I was suppose to have Crystal Report II and III training this week, from Wednesday to Friday. Bien sûr, when I got to their office, they had canceled the training, I was the only student for both. But they didn’t send us an email about it. Good thing it was downtown, so not too much traveling, but still annoying.
We watched The Dark Knight Wednesday night. Hinote love Bale, but you have to give credit to Heath Ledger to steal the show has the joker. We have a bunch of things to watch this weekend, and more WoW and Fallout 3 and great food. We have been apart for so long, we enjoy simple things like that a lot.
Found Wrath Collector’s Edition online, I received it yesterday. Like the others CE, the box is very big. The mouse pad is very nice, I installed vertically because of the G15 being longer that normal keyboard. The book seem great quality, we will check it more this weekend. We made fries and watched the DVD last night, the making of Wrath. Blizzard as such good artist, they need to make a CG movie.
Frosty, the exclusive pet is cute. The funny part is that they give you 2 pack of cards of the TCG, I will give them to Hinote’s young brother. But in it they have a pack of 50 cookies that make your non combat pet bigger, much bigger. The result is..O_O:
Hinote wanted to read some of the WoW books, so I got Lord of the clan and Rise of the Horde. Book about Thrall..Yes I kind of ignore the alliance ones. Tho with Wrath I want to know more about Arthas. For Thrall!
Weekend, Wrath first impressions

Hinote did her team presentation on black hole Friday. It went well, but she didn’t sleep much the previous 2 days because of it and we both starting to have a cold. So I was glad she could rest after her presentation. She was napping Friday night when I got home, so I tried Wrath a little . We made some pasta and got lazy for the rest of the night. We got at Eaton for some shopping and also to eat some Chipotle and some Blizzard. We walked around the apart Sunday afternoon, looking at the small local stores, getting coffees, trying a cake place, and some mango chicken at home, with some playing Fallout 3, watching Family Guy, Mythbuster, etc It was good to just relax together this weekend.
And now about Wrath: Your first contact with Wrath will be ..waiting if you play during evening on east coast time. The server queues are back on the most popular realms, sometime about 90 minutes wait to access the realms. To access Northrend on the Horde server it’s quite easy, just take the Zeppelin from Orgrimmar to access Borean Tundra or the one outside Undercity to go in Howling Fjord. Most people just use the one in Orgrimmar, so I choose the one in Undercity. It’s less crowded in the Fjord. You also have the chance to fight giant vikings and meeting Tauren cousins..The maps are more detailed also, and more complex buildings, Wow never looked better and the music in the fjord is really majestic.
It’s very nice to finally being to level up again your main.
You can get some lags when around a quest hub, but for the rest it’s pretty stable. Off course it’s possible you have to wait for a respawn, and some killing quests will take more time because a lot of players surrounding you. With so many people around and not much of them gathering the leather, it was quite fast to go to level 450 in skinning. And you know its high level item when some of the leather you get is a blue item.
Speaking of quest, most of them give around 20 000 to 25 000 XP, which make it essential to level, needing over 1.5 millions to get to level 71. Mob give around 1800 XP in rested stated, and around 900 in regular state. There’s plenty of them, so it’s level going at a nice speed. I got to level 71 already Saturday night.
They also added guardians, character that will fight with you in a certain zone. I had a Taunka giving me 3 quests when I called him, and fighting with me until I was done with them. You don’t have a bar to control them, but in general they are helping and make soloing a little better. They also attack Alliance on sight, which can be a problem because right now there seem to be a small break of pvp, everyone is leveling.
My gear is better that what I get for rewards for now, and I don’t have any problem soloing quest that need 2 or 3 people in those starting zone. But chance are that someone is waiting for the same mob as you so it’s easy to group. I need to try the new battleground tonight, Strand of the Anciens, with vehicules, Siege weapons, etc
You also seem to interact quite a bit with the Lich king. He appeared on some quests, etc I tried a little the death knight with Hinote, we need to play more, doing quests with them to get your talents points. So it’s 2 early too judge.

47 minutes before the expansion opening I got leatherworking to 375. Took 2 hours for gathering the mats. I aslo got a lockbox that need a level 75 rogue to open O_o. Bring us Arthas we are ready. On the road for level 80…
